Defining Pieces began with a project my mother and I had talked about for a long time. Taking some of my father's clothes - the ones we remember seeing
him in day-after-day - and making a blanket of them. It seemed to us to be a way to keep some of the memories of the man we both loved so much, a part of our daily lives. As we began designing and crafting it, we also knew that this wonderful blanket would become a part of our family for generations to come. A link to the past. More than photographs, more than stories, something we could touch and feel. When we were done, we thought this would be something others might want. Something of their loved ones. Something enduring. Something ordinary from their lives, made into something extraordinary.
A memory they could touch.
